Huffington Post Politics Editor in Toronto

The Huffington Post has a job opening for full-time online Politics Editor in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The chosen candidate will be responsible for:

Overseeing and coordinating editorial and production aspects of the Huffington Post Canada Politics section:

Working with the in-house and US HuffPost teams to create editorial plans for new HuffPost Canada Politics section

Determining workflow for content production and regular feature management

Develop and maintain an editorial calendar for the site when applicable

Conduct outreach to high-profile contributors

Some onboarding of new bloggers/contributors

Management and monitoring of syndicated news feeds on the sites

Creating, writing, publishing and editing content

Working with homepage news editor to manage and their promotion on the AOL.ca portal site

Working with US teams to ensure .CA editorial mandate and content offerings are aligned with global brand mandates

Incorporating multi-media elements into the site sections

Working to distribute content through social networking methods and other online methods alongside the production and publishing of the content

Daily writing and rewriting of posts

Fact-checking and editing of original content from contributors

Some photo sourcing and editing

Daily hand-off of news duties to evening news editor

Growth of the Huffington Post Canada Politics section and management of site business consideration:

Developing and executing online and social media strategies to grow new audience

Working with marketing and content outreach teams to execute growth strategies and deliver results

Monitoring growth and performance of HuffPost Politics against determined metrics

Working with sales team to deliver on sold client campaigns.
